ABOUT THE PROJECT
Over the next 18 months, the City of Painesville will be working with residents, businesses, and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan that will guide our community’s growth and evolution for years to come. When complete, the new comprehensive plan will outline the future goals of Painesville and be the foundation for all policy decisions. When implemented, the document will help encourage economic development, enable sustainability, protect the quality of life of current residents, and ensure healthy growth for the City.
IDEA & STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
This phase allows the project team to think about long-term goals and strategic action items that will ensure the community continues to maintain and improve upon their amenity and development offerings.

THE PROJECT TEAM
A critical part of the success of this planning process is the participation of property owners, residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in the community. A comprehensive plan is a guiding document that touches the life of every community resident. To ensure that the planning process takes into account the ideas, concerns, and desires of the broader community, the planning process will incorporate two different community groups that will assist the consulting team in developing and reviewing plan deliverables. This is in addition to general public engagement throughout the project.
PROJECT STEERING COMMITTEE
The Steering Committee is a coalition of local leaders who work with the ASI project team, guiding the process, providing immediate feedback, and deciding the final character of the plan.
PROJECT AMBASSADORS
The project ambassadors will serve as liaisons between the Review Team and the community, teaching residents how the planning process works and how the document will be used in the future.
PROJECT STAKEHOLDERS
The project stakeholders are individuals who represent a wide array of community interests including major employers, developers, community organizations, and leadership.
